With a great location off the southeastern coast and a short drive to Wilmington and Jacksonville, Topsail Island is home to a small year-round population who enjoy the simple life this coastal community provides.
Topsail Island is a friendly 26-mile long barrier island offering a variety of properties and price ranges to suit the vacation/investment or a year-round home buyer near the Camp Lejeune back gate, MARSOC, and MCAS New River.
Topsail Island (pronounced Tops’l) seems caught in a time warp as it still retains the air of the classic small family beach resort, a place with few commercial trappings whose devotees return generation after generation. The 26-mile long barrier island is located between Wilmington NC and Jacksonville NC and consists of three towns: North Topsail Beach, Surf City, and Topsail Beach. The island is accessible by an old-fashioned swing bridge in Surf City and a modern high-rise bridge in North Topsail Beach.
Located at the Northern end of the island and located in Onslow County, North Topsail is known as “the quiet end” of the island.
Not many towns have an oceanfront visitor's center, but Surf City does. The commercial hub of the island and the largest of the three island towns.
Topsail Beach is the smallest of the three communities located on the island. High-rise development is not allowed, beautification is encouraged, and conservation.
